This is the privacy policy for the ForeFriends app and the website at fore-friends.com. The short version: we collect only what's needed to make the app work, we don't sell your data, and we don't run any third-party tracking scripts on the website.
Who we are
ForeFriends is operated by Saltwater Digital Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 16616025) with a registered office at 42 East Street, First Floor Offices, Newquay, England, TR7 1BE. References to "we", "us", and "our" mean that company. We are the data controller for personal data described in this policy.

What we collect
From the website (fore-friends.com)
We don't run analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking scripts on this website. We don't set cookies on this website. Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server access logs (IP address, request timestamp, page requested, user agent) which are retained for a short period for security and operational purposes.
From the app
To make the app work, we collect:
- Account information. Your name, email address, and (optionally) a profile photo.
- Golf data you create. Your handicap, rounds you record, scores, group memberships, comments, and reactions.
- Device and usage data. Anonymous app diagnostics, crash reports, and feature usage so we can fix bugs and improve the app. This is not tied to advertising identifiers.
- Location. Only when you actively use distance or shot tracking features during a round, and only with your permission.
How we use it
- To operate the app: keep your account, save your rounds, share scores with your group.
- To fix bugs and improve the product based on anonymous usage data.
- To respond to you when you email us.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build profiles for marketing. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
Who sees it
We share data with a small number of service providers who help us run the app, for example, our cloud hosting provider, our database provider, and the providers we use to send the occasional service email. These providers process data on our instructions only and are bound by appropriate contracts.
Other ForeFriends users in your group can see the rounds, scores, comments, and reactions you share with the group. That is the point of the app.
Where it lives
We store data on servers in the UK and the European Economic Area where possible. Where data is transferred outside those regions, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your rights
If you live in the UK or the EEA, you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your data (subject to limited legal exceptions).
- Object to certain types of processing.
- Ask us to restrict processing while we look into a request.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

Children
ForeFriends is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change. If the changes are significant, we will let account holders know in the app.
